The facelifted Swift hatchback will be Maruti Suzuki‘s next major release, which is scheduled for sometime in the upcoming year. One of the best-selling Maruti models, the new Swift, has been sighted by the automaker testing on Indian roads ahead of its introduction. Recently, a video of the Swift makeover appeared online, showcasing some of the most important features of the India-spec model. The new Swift was just unveiled by Suzuki Motor at the Japan Auto Show. However, the features and specifications of the Swift that will be released in India may differ somewhat.

Two new Swift test mules are seen together, camouflaged, being tested on a Haryanan highway in a video posted to YouTube. The alloy wheels, headlights, taillights, and grille pattern are the only exterior features that are visible. The spy photos have also shown off some of its interior. The redesigned Swift, which debuted in Japan, will have a number of changes to its appearance, amenities, and drivetrain.

The next Swift will sport a redesigned grille that resembles the Fronx SUV’s. It will be smaller than the model of the current generation and treated gloss black. Through the camouflage, the LED headlight and DRL modules are also apparent. The front bumpers and headlights of the Swift will be redesigned with LED technology. The Swift’s general structure is mostly unchanged. The test mules had alloy wheels that were blacked out on the sides. It’s anticipated that the production model will get new alloy wheels with diamond cuts. The taillights on the back have also been changed.

The new Swift will be built on an upgraded Heartect platform, as Suzuki has already stated. The Swift makeover will be larger in terms of proportions. Its length will rise to 3,860 mm, a gain of almost 15 mm. The height has decreased by 40 mm to 1,500 mm, while the width has decreased by 30 mm to 1,695 mm. The wheelbase’s 2,540 mm measurement is the sole feature that hasn’t changed.

Along with all the latest features available in Maruti’s new generation of cars, the interior of the 2017 Swift will also receive extensive updates. This will have a 9-inch freestanding infotainment screen that can also be seen in the spy pictures via the windows. The Swift facelift is anticipated to include a 360-degree camera, an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and a redesigned digital driver display, among other things.

The Maruti Swift facelift is anticipated to come with a 1.2-liter gasoline engine coupled to a four-speed automated gearbox or a five-speed manual transmission. The engine can produce a maximum of 113 Nm of torque and 88.76 bhp of power. Hybrid technology may also be added to the new Swift to further improve fuel efficiency.Suzuki has stated that level-2 ADAS technology will be included in the new Swift. Whether Swift will be the first hatchback in India to have ADAS is still up in the air.
